Tom's Story

Where do I begin? I met with my birthmother this past Saturday for the first time. It was an emotional day to say the least. It was an absolute joy to see her face and hold her in my arms, I couldn't let her go. We cried, smiled, laughed and cried some more. It was one of the most incredible days in my life and I will never forget this moment. I have a wonderful birthmom. She is loving, caring, sincere and kind. Her heart is genuine and I can honestly say that words cannot express the love we share as mother and son. We talk all the time and grow closer everyday.

I am so thankful for this opportunity that was given to me. I am forever a changed man. I now know my birth mother and I love her very much! In addition to my reunion with my birthmother, I met my brother, my uncles and wonderful family and friends. It was a day full of emotion and happiness. We couldn't stop looking at one another as family resemblances abound!!! My goodness, it was like looking in a mirror.

I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do. This would not have been possible without your efforts, dedication and determination. I am forever grateful. I now have the answers to questions that I have searched for all my life. I know my family and where I come from. I know who I look like and understand the circumstances surrounding my adoption. I feel complete. The thirty-six year old void in my heart has been filled. Again, I thank you. You have brought me together with my family and we have a lifetime of memories to share.
