Soon the Missouri birth index, 1920-2015, and the Missouri death index, 1968-2015 will be available to the public online and free. Thanks to the dedicated staff at the non profit, Reclaim The Records, which had to sue the State of Missouri in order to obtain these public records. One has to be dismayed that the state would spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep these indexes from the public.
According to Reclaim The Records, this is the first free public copy of the Missouri birth index for 1920-2015 and the Missouri death index for 1968-2015. These are not the actual certificates, but are indexes that provide the given name, surname, and date of birth or death.
